The Personal Field Security (PFST) has been specifically designed to increase preparedness and awareness of people working in high risk environments and support them in building confidence in managing critical and life-threatening situations. It is commonly referred as HEAT training in the sector. Throughout the training, participants will attend theoretical sessions, practice new skills and experience real-life simulations exercises.
Preparation, planning and reaction are the three pillars of our PFST.
Personal Security and First Aid are a significant part of the duty of care from companies and organizations to their employees. Trainings are vital to assure staff, families and companies that staff will be working in an environment with optimal preparation. At the end of the training, the participants will feel more comfortable to carry out their work in various environment. They will be better equipped to anticipate and react to threat. This training supports the mainstreaming of the security culture across the entire company/organisation.

Participants

Anyone travelling or working in risky environments and/or remote areas.

Duration

3 days including all the modules, 7 hours of Emergency First Aid (certification) and a final simulation exercise (4 hours).

Course Times

Day 1, 9am – 8pm
Day 2, 8.30am – 9pm
Day 3, 8.30am – 5pm

Certification

Successful participants will receive an OSC-Highfield Training Certificate and an Emergency First Responder Certificate.
In order to facilitate the certification process, you will be asked to provide details for each participant in advance including Date of Birth.

Location & Accommodation

The training unfolds over the course of 3 days and 2 nights. It begins at 9h00 on the first day and finishes at 17h15 on the third day. The training centre is located at around an hour on public transport from Paris in a fenced area of 52 hectares. A 15 minutes taxi ride links the closest train station to the centre.

Participants are taken charge of with full board from their arrival to their departure.

Participants are accommodated in a single building with training rooms on the ground floor and shared rooms and dorms on the upper floor.

Meals & Dietary Requirements

Breakfast, lunch, dinner and breaks are delivered each day and will be taken at the premises beginning with lunch and a great barbecue in the evening on the first day. Water is available throughout the course. Special dietary requirements will be accommodated within reason and should be indicated on the registration form.

Transport to/from the location

The training centre is 50km north-west of Paris. It is an approximatively 1h30 drive from central Paris. The training centre has enclosed parking. If you decide to come with a car, we will ask you to provide us with your number plate.
You can also travel there by train from Paris to the nearest station  (55 minutes) and then complete the trip with a 10 minutes taxi ride.
OSC can arrange group transportation from the train station to the training centre.

Facilitators and training facilities

You will be trained by field-experienced security professionals who specialise and understand working in humanitarian and development contexts. They will aim to ensure that your learning is as realistic and relevant as possible to the context and risks you will face in the work you do. The training will be highly interactive and require full participation in order for you to draw the most benefit from it.

The training centre provides large and well-equipped training rooms with comfortable resting areas. The park covers approximatively 50 hectares and is perfect for real-life simulation exercises.

Additional Costs

There might be other costs that you, or your organisation, need to consider.
* Course fees do not cover airfare or travel to/from the training venue.
* Visas or other documentation is not included in the course fee and is the responsibility of the participant.

Terms & Conditions

Participants recognise that all participation is voluntary. Payment is due in full upon registration and no place is confirmed until payment has been made. This applies to both individuals and organisations.  Participants will need to provide their passport number to OSC for security reasons. Participants should ensure that they are fit and healthy and able to attend the training. Any concerns or issues should be declared in advance, where possible.

Cancellation & Refund

Individuals and organisations are fully responsible for investigating and understanding any visas or documentation required to attend the course in Nairobi, Kenya. If visas or other documentation are not forthcoming, the regular cancellation and refund details below apply.
If cancellation is necessary, it should be made two weeks in advance of the start date of the course and a full refund will be made.
Cancellations made within the two weeks of the start date of the course will be charged in full and participants may only request a substitute to attend in their stead or to transfer their registration to another/later course subject to availability.
No-shows (failing to attend) will result in 100% of the course being charged.
